Arsen Kanokov congratulated Abkhazians on the Independence Day

The President of Kabardino-Balkaria Arsen Kanokov took part in the celebration of the Abkhazia Independence Day.
More than 400 guests from Russia, CIS and Turkey where there is a large Abkhazian Diaspora came to Sukhumi to take part in celebrations of the 15th anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Abkhazia. Speaking at the meeting Arsen Kanokov reminded of the residents of Kabardino-Balkaria who perished in Abkhazia. "59 volunteers died for the freedom of Abkhazia, 11 people were awarded the title of the "Hero of Abkhazia", and 5 of them were awarded this title posthumously. On the tragic days the people of Kabardino-Balkaria backed up the Abkhazian people and rendered all possible assistance to Abkhazia. It couldn't be otherwise. Our republics are neighbors, our peoples are brothers. We are destined to live together sharing joys and sorrows, and keeping safe the source of friendship and brotherhood. We will cherish them like the apple of our eyes, strengthen and develop our cooperation for the welfare of our peoples"- Arsen Kanokov said. "We have come here today to share the joy of the Abkhazian people. On behalf of the government of Kabardino-Balkaria and the whole people I congratulate you on this great victory" - the President of Kabardino-Balkaria said. 

Speaking about the tragic days of August in South Ossetia Arsen Kanokov remarked that it was only due to decisive actions of Russia that full scale war in Caucasian Region was prevented. He expressed his assurance that "Russia was and is the only guarantor of peace and stability in the Caucasus. The Agreement on Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between Russia and Abkhazia has laid down firm foundations for safe and sure future of the Abkhazian people"

Arsen Kanokov suggested repairing a school or any other social object. "We shall do it gladly no matter how much money it will take".
