An Agreement on intentional training of specialists was signed between the Ministry of Culture of Kabardino-Balkaria and St. Petersburg State University of Cinema and Television (SPSUCT). The document is signed by the Minister of Culture of KBR Ruslan Firov and the rector of SPSUCT Alexander Belousov. Klim Lavrentiev, the secretary of the Russian Union of Filmmakers and Vladimir Vorokov, the chairman of the KBR Union of Filmmakers witnessed the ceremony.
Opening the meeting Ruslan Firov said that signing of the agreement is the first step in the way of training highly qualified filmmakers. He informed that a session of the management board of the Russian Union of Filmmakers is planned to be held in Nalchik on October 12-13. Urgent issues of the film industry of the republics of the North Caucasus will be discussed at the meeting. Alexander Belousov said that the university he heads has the license to train 33 specialists in the sphere of film making, television and journalism, and it is one of the leading and oldest educational institutions in this field. "Opening of the branches in regions is troublesome and not easy. Considering that the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation closes branches all over the country, the road ahead is a difficult but important one" - says Alexander Belousov. But he is sure that we shall overcome all difficulties as there is everything necessary for it, and first of all the will of the Republic's authorities. According to the agreement between KBR and St. Petersburg State University of Cinema and Television from 7 to 10 students will be admitted to the faculties of "Direction of Cinema and Television", "Direction of Non-Fiction Films", "Cameraman", "Sound Engineering". Forms of learning can vary depending on the results of the All - Russia Exams and the wish of the applicants. Realization of the present project will enable to improve the situation in the field of placement of the personnel for electronic and print mass media in KBR.
