A work schedule on setting illumination lines on federal highways of the republic was approved and signed at the meeting with the president of KBR Arsen Kanokov. The First Deputy Prime Minister of the KBR Government Adib Abregov and the head of Federal State Institution “Department of North Caucasus highways of the Federal Highway Agency” Gaioz Makiev signed the document.

The head of the republic repeatedly raised the question of insufficient illumination of the federal highway between settlements. The problem concerned local administrations. They don’t have enough money to run and repair objects of illumination. Therefore the Government suggested that electric lighting lines should be transferred to Rosavtodor. According to the document all illumination lines along the highway Kavkaz by villages of Etoko, Zalukokoazhe, Psynadakha and Malka of the Zolsky district; town of Baksan of the Baksan district, village of Bylym of the Elbrus district will have been transferred to the Department of North Caucasus highways by the end of 2010. New illumination lines will be built on the territory of a number of other settlements of the above mentioned districts and also of Chegem, Urvan, Lesken, Prokhladny and Cherek districts within 2011-2013.

Acting KBR Minister of Transport Anuarby Sunshev spoke about the plan of putting the highway into standard condition and sanitary purification of the adjacent territory. According to the minister, the majority of protocol instructions has either been carried out or is in the implementation phase.Gaioz Makiev thanked the president for his attention to the problems of road workers. “Much has changed for the better in Kabardino-Balkaria, highways and waysides inclusive. It is the result of the attention of the President and Government”, - he said. Arsen Kanokov emphasized that the question of roads and road infrastructure is one of the most important for the republic and it’s economic development. “Roads are a visiting card of Kabardino-Balkaria, guests pay attention to the roads first of all. I hope that within two or three years our highways will become comfortable and illuminated”, - said Arsen Kanokov.
