On knowing about the terrorist act at the hippodrome President of KBR Arsen Kanokov went there immediately. The first minutes after the blast he spoke on the telephone to the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.  The head of the republic informed Dmitry Medvedev about the situation and told him about the measures taken to help the victims.  The President of the RF said he had ordered the Ministry Of Internal Affairs and The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation that they investigate the case and take measures to ensure public order in the republic.

The head of the republic viewed the scene, talked to the KBR heads of the  Ministry Of Internal Affairs and The Federal Security Service. They informed the President about the situation measures taken. Arsen Kanokov stressed that the government of the republic and law enforcement have power, means and political will to confront the monsters who chose old people, women and children as their victims. We shall do our best to strengthen law enforcement bodies, intensify our work with the youth to prevent it from getting involved into the  criminal groups.

From the hippodrome Arsen Kanokov went the republican clinical hospital and medical unit where the victims had been taken. “The criminals launched a war against people. But the people of our republic must not suffer from extremism. We must consolidate against it and eradicate it” – said Arsen Kanokov. He condoled with the relatives of Saidin Shebzukhov on his death.

Special session of the Government of KBR was held at that day. The Prime-Minister Alexander Merculov ordered to render help to the families of the victims and to reinforce security measures. He also instructed the heads of municipal communities that they organize meetings in villages, intensify explanatory work among people. He noted that all holiday events would be held according to the schedule.

The Prime-Minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin ordered to pay from the Federal budget one-time dowries to the family of Saidin Shebzukhov (700 thousand rubles plus mourning expances), and from 150 to 300 thousand rubles to the victims depending on the severity of injury. The victims will also get a pecuniary aid from the republican budget. The family of Saidin Shebzukhov will get 100 thousand rubles and the victims 25 thousand rubles.

Alexander Merculov and the Cabinet members attended the funeral of Saidin Shebzukhov in the village of Atazhukino.

In the evening Arsen Kanokov and Alexander Merculov  visited the city stadium and watched the football match between Spartak-Nalchik and Dinamo.
